Our Legend Begins a Few Decades Ago…Our first HERO, Jim Conlon, finding himself newly confined to a wheelchair, set out on a QUEST to alert our local municipality to the obstacle which forced him to navigate roads used by vehicles. After much political angling we soon became the first city to have CURB cuts on mostly every corner. A few years later and in the same neighborhood, another HERO, Jim Monahan, found himself medically requiring highly sophisticated equipment which he was fortunate to have the means to afford. It became his QUEST to help others who could not. Together they formed CURB, ready to meet requests for help since 1989.We are glad you found our Web Portal!

Now in its 18th year in the year 2021, Bike4Curb has been our funding source since Jim Conlon started his own quest and has continued even though both of our HEROES are in a better place. It began with 3 neighborhood teens wanting to fulfill a gift of service. Pictures of our projects are found at their web site: www.bike4curb.com. You can find out more about our benefactors by visiting www.bike4curb.com or google The Shift Foundation. |
